Bee's make Bespoke Furniture...

A collaborative event between The Honeybees, Kevin Hill (industrial designer), Vanessa Harden (concept designer) and Ben Faga (artist). The bee's a building a form within the constaints as set by human interaction. This was featured in Designersblock but I have not found a direct link online about the project specifically - will continue with the search.

The work of CJ Lim is often comical in it's approach, not serious in it's vision and provides some inspiring idea's and approaches to what design is and can be. A great inspiration of his are the illustrations of Heath Robinson.

origins of grown jacket?

I have just come across this piece in the excellent book: Fashioning the Future. This jacket miniarture has been grown in a lab like the work of Suzanne Lee. This work however was done for those veggie's with a conscience who do not feel happy wearing leather. This piece (an intended art piece) called Victimless Leather, 2004 was developed by bio artists Oron Catts and Ionat Zurr - based at SymbioticA. The project was established in Australia as Tissue Culture & Art Project.

Cradle to Cradle

The Cradle to Cradle (C2C) concept has been around since the 70's but in the last decade it has been re-considered and is currently utilised as a key way of thinking in terms of sustainabilty, ecology, ethis etc. The principles of C2C are to consider what materials you are using and consider while in the design process where they will end up and ultimatly how they can be used after their initial use. The list here gives an overview of some of the terms used.

There is a good book which I believe is called Cradle to Cradle but will find it and add in here later.
